One of The Indian Test Match Captains.

He was captain for 4 test matches and all the matches were drawn against Pakistan
He become one of the Indian Captains in 1989.He played superbly in one of One Day International match against New Zealand in 1988 scored Half century and 5 wickets. He was the First Indian Player achieved this.

He was born on 21 Dec 1959 in Madras Tamilnadu.He was opening batsman with Mr.Sunil Gavaskar.He was aggressive stylish batsman.He was a team member of 1983 World Cup and Benson and Hedges World Championship of Cricket. He is currently Chairman of The Selection Committee. He played total of 43 tests and got 2062 runs and highest of 123 in test. He was ambassador of Chennai Super King.He started his carrier at the age of 21 and retired at 33 in 1993.He become cricket analyst for Indian News Channel.
